Instructions for After Laser Hair Removal

What To Expect

  • The lasered area may be tender, slightly red and swollen. This reaction will disappear in a few hours. You may apply cool packs to the area as needed.
  • You may apply aloe lotions for comfort.
  • You may take aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) or Tylenol if needed for pain

Between Laser Sessions

  • Do not shave or wear makeup for 48 hours after laser treatment.
  • Do not wax, pluck, bleach, use depilatory creams, tweeze or have electrolysis treatments.
  • Avoid tanning the area to be treated for 2 weeks. In the summer, a broad spectrum sunscreen (UVA and UVB) with an SPF of 30 or more is recommended.
  • Avoid Retin-A, chemical peels, glycolic acids, alpha hydroxyl acids until healed (48-72 hrs).
