Intense Pulse Light (IPL) of Legs

Besides photodamage, the legs may present their own unique set of problems that may need to be corrected such as:

  1. Leg edema (swelling) may need to be treated by medication, compression socks or surgery.
  2. Spider veins will contribute to discoloration from hemosiderin and may need to be treated by either sclerotherapy or external laser treatments.
  3. Varicose veins may need to be treated with radiofrequency endovascular ablasion from our vascular lab.

Case 4. Hyperpigmentation of the Legs. Venous insufficiency, varicose veins and other conditions can cause discoloration of the legs. IPL phototherapy is the treatment of choice.
